Kia Sportage – plug-in four-wheel drive SUV designed and developed for Europe

  • salvomie

The Kia Sportage is one of Kia’s best-selling models in Europe and globally. When the European version of the all-new Kia premieres, the model has been developed to challenge the top tier of the SUV segment. We are getting more and more hybrids and electric cars on the market and some that have really jumped on that bandwagon are Kia. We see their Kia EV6 which is a 100% electric car and the Sportage which is a plug-in hybrid SUV. It is not only Tesla that is big in the electric car market.

When it comes to electric car charging, it is still a very hot potato that requires efforts from leading software manufacturers to build out the charging infrastructure for all electric cars and not just one car brand. We have to stop thinking monopolies in the market.

The new Kia combines an elegant yet muscular and modern exterior design with a high-class premium interior. The integrated curved screen accommodates the latest connected services.

The new Kia Sportage has been developed in Europe

The new Kia has been developed in Europe and is based on a completely new platform and ideal dimensions and proportions.

A number of innovative technical features are introduced in the new Kia Sportage. A new generation of electronically controlled suspension (ECS) provides the best possible comfort and safety thanks to continuous damping control in real time. With a new off-road mode, the Kia Sportage is ready for more adventurous rides in challenging conditions on snow, mud and sand.

The new Kia also raises the bar in terms of safety equipment with both passive and active high-tech systems; DriveWise, including a range of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

The Sportage in its fifth generation was presented with a long wheelbase for the global market in July. Now it’s time for the European version to make an entrance.
